How Our Fixed-Fee Process Works
A typical divorce or separation matter can be divided into a number of stages. We agree the fixed fee before each stage begins, giving you the opportunity to understand the work and cost before proceeding.
Initial Consultation & Case Assessment
We review your circumstances, priorities and available options, identify the key legal issues and explain the process ahead. The aim is simple: for you to leave the consultation understanding your position and the appropriate next steps.

Divorce Petition & Acknowledgement
We prepare and file the divorce application, deal with the necessary court correspondence and manage the acknowledgement of service.

Financial Disclosure & Negotiation
We deal with the exchange of financial information, preparation of Form E where required, and structured negotiations towards a financial settlement. Because the work required depends upon the nature and complexity of your financial arrangements, the fixed fee is agreed with you before this stage begins.

Consent Order or Separation Agreement
Once an agreement has been reached, we prepare and settle the legal documentation required to formalise your financial arrangements. The fee will reflect the complexity of the agreement and is confirmed before work begins.

We deal with the application for the Final Order, confirm that relevant undertakings have been fulfilled and formally bring your matter to a conclusion.

What if my case is more complex?
Complex matters still deserve clear costs.
Cases involving significant assets, business interests, international elements or contested arrangements for children may require additional stages.
Where additional work is necessary, we will identify it and price it transparently. The complexity of your circumstances does not change our commitment to agreeing fees before work begins.
Routine costs, disbursements and funding options are discussed at the outset and reviewed as the case progresses.
